By car:

From New York City: Take the New York State Thruway (I-87) north to Exit 24. Past the tollbooth, keep to the right and follow signs for the Northway (also I-87) heading towards Montreal. Continue for about 80 miles on the Northway; get off at Exit 27. Make a right at the T, then make a left on to Route 9. Continue north on Route 9 for about 7 miles; when you get past town, you will see the school on your left. Continue straight on Route 9 down the hill; at the top of the hill, on the right, you will see the signs for Terra Alta. Make the right turn onto the grounds.

From New Jersey:
Take the Palisades Parkway to Exit 13 of the NYS Thruway, or take Route 17 to Exit 15 of the NYS Thruway. Continue north on the Thruway and follow directions as from NYC.

From Western New York: Take the NYS Thruway (I-90) East to Exit 32 at Utica. Take Route 8 North, all the way to the intersection with the Northway (I-87) at Chestertown/Hague. Take the Northway north to Exit 27, then follow the instructions as above.

From Montreal:
Take the Champlain Bridge to Autoroute 15 heading south. Once past the border, continue south on the Northway (I-87) to Exit 28. Make a left at the stop sign; at the flashing red light, turn right onto Route 9. Continue for about two miles; just past the Maypine Marina on your left, you will see the signs for Terra Alta. Make a left onto the grounds.

Other methods of transportation:

Bus: Adirondack Trailways runs bus service several times a day to and from Schroon Lake on its Montreal Line.

Train: Amtrak’s nearest stop to Schroon Lake is at Ticonderoga on the Montrealer Line, approximately 20 miles away. (More Information)

Air: Schroon Lake has a very small airstrip for private planes. Both Glens Falls and Albany have larger commercial airports.

 
And of course, you can always come by kayak!
